Honeywell's magnetoresistive sensors can determine the changes in the earth's magnetic field due to the presence of ferromagnetic objects, or the position of ferromagnetic objects in the earth's magnetic field. High speed vehicles and other iron objects can be detected by using high bandwidth. These sensors employ non-contact design, and the operating distance depends on the measured ferromagnetic mass.
